I think the key moment is that those varieties were already approved in other countries and since EFSA usually follows the flock, it would have approved it if not for the public outcry. I think it&#039;s obvious that the system is flawed and this should have been on the news across Europe. But of course, it wasn&#039;t. 

Note currently, not a long ago, I read that farmers in Europe wanted desperately the EC to approve the import of GM stock food, since it&#039;s crucial for their business. Which would of course mean importing GMO that wasn&#039;t approved to be safe in Europe. And which case, we would all eat the same thing we fought against, simply because the EC cannot yet figure out whose interests it&#039;s there to protect - ours or those of US corporations.</description>
