" i know there is something i can do but i honestly don’t know where to start.

ideas?

I first started reading about 7 years ago about how ultimately the world is controlled by the IMF, the WTO, and the World Bank. At first I was skeptical but more research after research proved that more-or-less it is ultimately true.

Anyway that is the problem, whether anyone is willing to admit that or not. I write here not to mention the problem, I'm assuming most people reading this are of one of two categories: 1) Hundreds of hours of research away from knowing how the world works, or 2) They already know all this. I speak for the second group.

I've thought thousands of times of the best way to really change the course of the world for the better. Looking like a hippie and chaining yourself to a tree just doesn't cut it these days.

My best advice is the following: You need to have resources at your disposal, no one would dispute this. This means A) You know a hell of a lot of people in high places, B) Somehow you can sort of 'social-engineer' and/or orchestrate large masses of people, or C) You have a lot of wealth.

The most surest path is option C. You amass a fortune. Most people who know what is wrong with the world completely object to amassing a fortune because they don't want to be like those they oppose, but the truth of the matter is that making large sums of money does not have to have anything to do with screwing over the public. The best and surest money is in selling to businesses themselves. What do they need and keep needing over and over and over again? I won't answer it for you but there are a few things that are obvious and I would personally guarantee you large sums of money and my life, that there is billions there for the taking to the resourceful of you.

So now your have your fortune and your resources, and with a little brain power you can come up with a thousand and one ways to make big changes in this world, either by influencing the minds of people through some form of media or by taking them on directly.

I only post this for the following reasons:

A) An uprising must form and people who are being bastardized the most in this world have no resources with which to make big changes.

B) The world doesn't have to be like this, there is enough food and resources for every man, woman, and child to eat 5 big meals a day and live like royalty. The top 10 companies on the Fortune 500 don't need to be either oil companies or financial institutions which do nothing but shuffle money around.

C) This is the biggest and main reason I write this. I'm blessed to know a lot of wise people in my life that can list off 1000 things wrong with the world at a moments notice. They know all the problems--or at least most of the problems--and I'll bet most people here do also. The educated agree on the problems. What nobody seems to be attacking are the best solutions. The most educated people I know are all in great jobs, but jobs that are never going to help them make change. Planting trees and working for Green Peace can only get you so far.

So my strong advice is the following: Get the resources, get the strength. Don't join things, make things. Don't have things happen to you, make things happen. I'm sorry to say but if you aim to make $120,000 a year and drive a new Subaru every three years, we're all doomed.

That was pretty all over the map and I do apologize but hopefully it at least caused someone to think of something in a new light,

I'd also recommend reading 'Stuffed and Starved; Markets, power and the hidden battle for the World Food System' by Raj Patel. It also provides information about the politics and economics of food production and illustrates some solutions and organisations that are well underway to action it. I found it to be very encouraging and energising. You should find some good ideas here.

(and yes, I'm looking forward to attending a PDC course in melbourne australia in a couple of weeks.)

Geoff...

WOW!

i really can't believe i'm talkin' to you.

yes, i'm attending a Permaculture Design Cert. course this fall. and i can't wait. we're hoping use what we learn to stimulate the imagination of many here in Abilene.

our 3+ acres here isn't much but i'm really inspired by the greening the desert project. i think we can actually go a long way toward changing a whole community with just this little piece of land and some hard work.

thanks for your response

keep up the good work!

To get inspired with lots of ideas and options of what you can do, take a Permaculture Design Certificate course, it link all your life experience into your potential to help the present situation with the appropriate design applications of permaculture here and now where you are.
