We are a family of three wanting to move off our homestead in Kansas to run a farm/ranch full-time. Our ideal situation would be an already established organic farm where the owner is looking to retire and will provide mentoring.

We are college educated, been gardening all our lives, and ready to make the move to a longer growing season. We are open to do a direct purchase, crop share, co-own and operate etc. We are energetic, highly motivated self-starters with extensive know-how and experience with organic/biodynamic/sustainable/permaculture techniques, growing and marketing, dairy/meat goats, sheep, equine, and poultry and basic maintenance to manage a farm.

Please feel free to contact us with any possible matches in any part of the world and for more detailed information, resume, and interview.

Now I'm REALLY fired up about taking a Permaculture design course! All the better to replicate a masterpiece like the one mentioned in this article ^^

@Sandy: The mongongo tree is a dryland plant. I do not know if SoFla is a good place to grow it. We get lots of rain in the summer and our sandy soils are quite calcareous, at least in Miami-Dade County. As well, SoFla has a savanna (wet/dry tropical) climate. Might be worth a try to grow mongongo, though. Just be sure to plant on raised ground to avoid flooding, since mongongo trees dislike even ephemereally flooded ground.

Now that I think about it, many of the exotic plants in SoFla are of African origin, so mongongo could probably naturalize in scrublands and other arid habitats.

Dear Mr. Mollison
I have read all your data about the African Mongongo tree, its use, et.al. But I cannot find a source for obtaining nuts (short of thousands of metric TONS for sale).
I want to try to grow it at my home in south Florida -1714 SE Westmoreland Blvd, Port St. Lucie, Fl. 34952 For my personal use, knowledge, trial and error. I am
attempting to convert my yard from plain grass to a totally edible environment.
If you could help me with where to obtain a small quantity of nuts, or a few seedlings, it would be GREATLY appreciated.
  Thank you
  Sandy

The word 'original' comes up a few times in this ad., but presumably the site had some abORIGINAL use too? A bit of acknowledgement would be good, language does matter
